Meditech: Prototype container

balearicdynamics

The prototype container is arrived today, just waiting to be adapted to host the Meditech components.

It is almost compact and has sufficient space to share all the components, the power unit (in the base) and one of the two sides will contain probes and accessory.

For now the decision is to posticipate the question of the battery powering and charger system. Just to remember, the project will include: solar cell, external domestic power charger and car power charger. For this first version I will adopt an external power unit (maybe an ATX switching) then the entire system should be tested for a correct calculation of the battery power, battery charger etc. The only limit will be to avoid the AC voltage directly connected to the box.

Next images will show the box open.

Looks like a good starting point. You can keep the various sensor separate and you have a nice structure in which to run wires and cables. Should do the job, DAB

Clem, unfortunately it has no sense ... One of the partners already asked me if it was possible to use it inside the desert sand or in the marshes image The usage environment will be analysed in depth after the first prototype is working and will put a lot of conditions. In this phase I am already very happy if all works in "normal" conditions, then the phase two (after the end of the challenge) is to make is with a waterproof container, supporting high temperatures and so on.

I think that the first version to make tests on-field will be the prototype series 1 but number two; first of all studying a good battery power system based on the real consumption and features of the actual version in-progress. Also important is the replacement of the actual development hard disk with a new one 2.5 inches or - better but depends on the total cost - SSD. The actual cost target is around 500$ per unit. Also the cost will be checked at then end of this first element, that is strategical for all these details.

Then, I hope that next week can deserve a surprise, but at the moment I have nothing yet sure so I prefer say nothing about. Stay in touch image

Yes, then it is very robust and well done, it's a Stanley that I bought on Amazon for something like a "chinese" price but the mark makes the difference. has a lot of nice features including the center wide and useful for power and other stuff. The monitor instead will be external, connectable with a support. The choice is to use a 15 inches monitor. 7 inches can fit inside, but hdmi lcd 7 inches are expensive and not so good visibility than the 15 inches. You will see soon the first modifications image
