The "Sci Fi your Pi" contest from 2015 was indeed one of the best projects I worked on with the Raspberry Pi microcomputer. Thanks to Element14 for selecting me as a contestant, I was able to make the Picorder and write the Python code for it, not ever coding anything prior to the contest outside of some very outdated and ancient BASIC programming. The development of the Picorder and finally its coding and operation was indeed a great steppingstone as an introduction to coding. As one of the four finalists, of which I never could have imagined I would be, it was a great pleasure to be counted among the "Final Four" of the contestants. Element14, the writers, and all the followers of the contest were a great inspiration to continue the development of the Picorder within the specified time limits of the contest. Six years has gone by relatively fast, but the Picorder is still functional as designed. In summary I'd like to thank all those that made the contest possible, Element14 and the writers, bloggers, followers, and the suppliers of the project components and modules used during the building of the device. Since the making of my Picorder I have seen several Tricorder/Picorder type projects developed and constructed by engineers and enthusiasts that are more sophisticated than the one I created and kudos to all of them for their enthusiasm and continuation of the Star Trek legacy.
