AI vision Reflective Telescope #1 Introductive blog

1 About AI vision Reflective Telescope

AI vision Reflective Telescope uses Raspberry Pi 4B supervise the celectial sky and follows the orbit of star accordingly.

The reflective telescope gives larger reflective diameter and longer optical routine for better functions than Galileo Telescope. I have the 16x lense and reflective mirror readyf for this project.

2 Reflective telescope

According to Reflecting Telescope: Definition, Optics, Design and Diagram (sciencefacts.net), reflective telesope uses a combination of curved mirrors that reflect light and form an image of a distant object.

Reflecting telescope is so-called because the primary mirror reflects the light to a focus instead of refracting it. The primary mirror usually has a concave spherical or parabolic shape and inverts the image at the focal plane. A secondary curved mirror, in combination with an eyepiece, is used to observe the image.

With vision capture capability of Raspberry Pi, the secondary curved mirror is not neccesary since camera lense can feed vision into the AI model to analysis the star in view and observor can sit in room to observe the celectial sky without stand near the telescope.

 3 The contol of telescope

The support frame of telescope can be designed as movable to follow the orbit. The selection of motor is not decided since I am still unsure about the weight of telescope. That is problem to be digged into in following blogs.

Hope it is going well! Just enjoyed reading your blog and it sounds like a great project and I'd love to do something similar. What sort of frame/support are you planning to build to support the mirrors? I know a lot of people choose Dobsonians as they are relatively easier to build, but they don't have the advantages of an equatorial mount in terms of star tracking, so really intrigued to see what you choose!

Growing up, one of my friends older brother built a very large reflecting telescope.  He would put on shows, showing us the night skies.  What a cool memory!

I look forward to learning more about your project.

Looking forward to seeing how this goes! As a complete newcomer to the topic, I find a lot of online resources either overly simplify with no practical detail, or use terminology I don't understand, so it will be good to learn from your blogs.
