OK, so now that we have talked about flow, I will tell you what I'm going to do for the project. It involves my USB-powered Symbol P304PRO-I0000 to my desktop it looks 
just like a USB keyboard. So I will hook up the symbol to a Arduino with an On-The-Go Cable to convert to the USB-C input, I will also need a bigger power supply. (Wireless) and a WI-FI adapter on the desktop.
Below I have extended the flow diagram to be realistic. I used Dia Diagram Editor to do the diagram. It's free and on most Linux distros.
My DataBase for this is on a MySQL server, the code is part perl, and C.
More To Come. In reality, I live in Warehouse 13, and can't find stuff, unless it's in the Aircraft database. I want to deal with the garage, office/lab shelves, and the vintage blue Akro-Mils bins that are all around.
I just uncovered a pair of BosTrend AC3 1200Mbps USB WiFi Adapter so it looks like it's going to be a remote wifi terminal. (6-13-2024 CAH)
