MERRY XMAS!

I actually got an animated MERRY XMAS display before Christmas.

A very simple animation with random colours assigned to the letters.

This is just the Proof of Concept prototype. I have plans to create arrays with seamless joints.

Hi Monte,

I wouldn't worry about the gaps.
You would have to get really close before it would become an issue.
Get the project done first, then you can think about other issues.

Yes but I think I'll display some changing or animated Christmasy icons.

Another 5,000 LEDs are enroute from China. According to the Carrier they've just arrived in Australia so I expect them to be delivered very soon.
I'll need to have some PCBs laid out to mount them. These PCBs will address the gaps.
Until that is completed we'll have to use our imagination at pretend the gaps aren't there or put it behind a multi pane window and work around it.

It works, and made me smile!
Getting the seams out would be nice, either in hardware or by letting the text scrolling at a constant 'speed' where you take the spacing into account... Option 1 is probably more conveniant

Are you going to put this in front of your house this christmas? Looks like you've already got quite a lot of bells & whistles available!

The online video processing and blog article integration is a little buggy.
I think I've managed to coax it to work.
