From my last article, DAB posed the question about the performance of the Very Compact Christmas Display.

I hope this video allays his fears.

I have added an opening title page with flashing text and real time scrolling chaser lights for a gauge of its performance.

To ensure that it is no trick I have flashing text and two independent sets of chaser lights in opposing directions comprised of multi-coloured elements.

The chaser elements are multi-coloured sprites although the video doesn't do it justice.

I could use larger and more complex ones and animate them at the same speed.

It's time to leave the cookies and warm milk out for Santa.

Have a Safe and Merry Christmas!

p.s. I hope Santa and all who likes this votes for me at http://www.element14.com/community/polls/1692

    Hi Don,

The whole screen gets refreshed in 30.72ms.

This means it is capable of a 30Hz frame rate.

    Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays

    Hi Monte,

I was just curious on how fast you could change the pixels.

The video does it very well.

    Thanks

    DAB
