I spent most of the time this weekend trying to get familiar with PSoC evaluation kit and PSoC Creator software. I started a little bumpy with the installation, which did not behave at all at the beginning until I figured out that it was a conflict with a previous version already installed on my computer. I then uninstalled all versions and start over and this time everything worked just fine.
Next I went through the design examples for this kit and I found them very beneficial for my learning process. I was then able to build a few small applications in which I experimented with input and output pins, operational amplifier configuration, clocks and pulse width modulation. Next I am planning to build more experiments to learn how to configure the ADC and digital filters. I find the PSoC creator software very easy to learn and easy to use.
I have also installed Eagle CAD software and checked it a little; I used this software in the past (about 15 years ago) and I was surprised to find out that I remember a lot after so many years.
So basically I am in learning mode and I expect to be like this for a while; however, I am still optimistic that I will have time to complete the project by the due date on January 17.
Thank you DAB for your comments on my previous message; to answer your question: it depends – I don’t really know what information I will be able to extract and process from the measured signals, so after I get some experimental data I will see what I can use. I will keep everyone updated through this blog as I move forward and get results.
Wish all of you the best in working on your projects,
Cosmin
