SFH: Bonus - Question and some real-world information

Hello everybody,

Just a quick update to ask a question and let you guys see some stuff:

First off, you can take a look at this. This is a webpage that will show you values of the current different sensors on the electric Imp. If it is running, you should be able to refresh occasionally and see the values change image

Second, a question. These values are reported as an Analog value by the imp, which is described below:

"Analog inputs return values in the range 0 - 65,535 (16 bits), where 0 corresponds to 0V, and 65,535 corresponds to the imp power supply voltage, usually 3.3V."

My question is how I can change these values into a useful output, for example, for the ECG module and to get perhaps a BPM reading. Any ideas or math I am probably missing?

I would guess it's a threshold thing for some devices, but technically, for ECG, I think a PQRST transition is a heartbeat.

Interesting. I'll have to look to see how this will work out.

Well, for a start I can't really comment on the actual ECG output quite yet, as I still don't have any leads/pads.

If you take a look at the monitoring page, the raw output from the sensors is displayed. What I intend to do later with the ECG is to have it report back a rough BPM value, however given the way that the Imp responds it seems impossible to do this.

As for the impact, I think it may just work on a threshold system set by the user, so in effect there is no requirement for conversion there.

    Thanks for the reply.

What does the incoming signal look like and what are you trying to do with it?
