First I would like to express thanks to Element14 and Analog Devices for selecting me as a finalist of the Sudden Impact Design Challenge. I feel fortunate and honored to be one of the fifteen people selected for this challenge.
What I like the most about this challenge is that it focuses on protecting the health of people involved in sport activities at all levels from professional athletes all the way down to our kids playing sports in high-school and middle-school.
I find this challenge a great opportunity to create a project that will prevent dangerous effects of sports injuries. I look forward to explore the features of Analog Devices’s meter-on-chip for health applications product, the ECG analog front end product, the temperature sensor, and the various accelerometer products, and to find ways to use them in monitoring the vital health information of sports players. I want to use my creativity to develop a reliable product that will help reduce injuries caused by sports activities.
My project will be made of two types of units, as described below:
1. One centralized receiver unit for coach/supervisor with data processing and visual display of each player’s health information and health alarms on the screen of a tablet computer or smart phone.
2. Multiple wearable health monitor units with health condition alarm for athletes/players, which transmit the data through wireless connections to the centralized receiver
I am very exited and I look forward to receive the materials and to start working on this project.
That’s it for now; I will come back with new updates on my work as soon as I receive the materials and I start making progress.
Good luck to all competitors, and
Best Wishes to all
Cosmin
