Blog #2  Preparation

This week I spent time searching for solutions for food waste crusher and DC motor to drive it. Because the original idea is to drive with 12 V DC motor for future expansion for solar cell and battery.  I had select meat grinder for use as food crusher as in the picture.

You can find these from any online store.  I ordered it from a local e-commerce shop. Please note that there are many sizes. I selected #22  #12 will be too small.

And I ordered 12 v DC motor with high torque from banggod.com

https://www.banggood.com/Electric-Motor-12V-DC-Geared-Motor-High-Torque-Gear-Reducer-Motor-p-925501.html?rmmds=myorder&ID=512741&cur_warehouse=CN

I selected 12 RPM for 20Kg.cm Torgue. hope it’s enough for food crusher.  I searched youtube and found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J78S27l1bqk  which uses 12 V DC motor to drive meat grinder which can prove that my concepts should work.

While I am waiting for orders to come. I just got all Infineon kits.  I  start to explore and see which part will be used in my project.  So far I had selected these parts for my project.

     -    XMC 4700 Relax Lit kit for Contro board. Because of the size and supported by Arduino.

     -    DC Motor shield for Motor Control.

     -    TLC493D 3DSense  for  Control Switch and function selection.

For Arduino support Infineon go to https://github.com/Infineon/XMC-for-Arduino/wiki/Implementation-in-Arduino-IDE  for instruction how to add XMC support for Arduino.

I am using MAC  and I need to download  Segger driver for MAC  https://www.segger.com/downloads/jlink  before can program in Arduino IDE. I had installed and test simple Blink program. So far so good.

Next step

======

Waiting for meat grinder and DC motor.  I will start looking into using  3D Sense for control switch and function selection.
