Safe & Sound Wearables - Trackable Safety Helmet for Miners #4: Unboxing After Canada Trip

My kits arrived after unexpected Canada trip. I know what was going to arrive but opening the box was still very exciting image Here are some photos image

Boosterpacks are lying on the A4 paper so this will give you the rough size of the components. I love the NFC tagimage It is so thin like a stamp. I can stick it on the helmet for entrance control.

MSP432 and Wi-Fi boosterback are out of the bag because I will start with them image My plan is now getting started with Wi-Fi module and PC program. I hope I can test it tomorrow.

My next blog will be related to running up Wi-Fi and connecting it to PC.

Yes, getting the toy box brings the excitement. Now you need to turn your ideas into demonstrable builds. DAB

    Finally.

Hopefully someone is asking the freight company for a "please explain".

NFC are fun to play with.

My smartphone came with two that are basically a sticker ...trouble is the phone company doesn't actually carry any more despite the advertising/hype that goes with the phone.

I liked this one that Adafruit showed.

Not sure on the range of the TI kit, but they use RFID Ear Tags on Cows and detect them entering the milking sheds, so your helmet mounting is quite possible.

I wonder how it can be misrouted. The surprising thing is the email I got. The list has an option for the USA and Canada astray options so it is not once in a million accident.

    image

The TI kit ranges 1 to 5 cm so it is not what I want. My design requires RFID but I will still use TI NFC kit. The idea is the same but this one has a shorter range hence it is NFC.

I also love the nail tags image

    Very interesting.

    Bit like Broken Arrow.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpiKu5L5ut8

NFC (Near Field Communication) is the fancy marketing name used in mobile phones.

RFID uses the energy in the near field before it turns to magnetic radiation.

Range will be the limit but there may be some options available to assist you.

Regardless of that, if you note that your final product will address the range issue, your proposal should still stand.

Exactly, Broken Arrow  has the same story image Shaver is good communication destroyer image

In order to use NFC, there may be a flexible NFC reader so the worker can push the reader to his/her head but RFID the one at the store's door is painless hence the distance is higher.

Regardless of that, if you note that your final product will address the range issue, your proposal should still stand.

I think so because the main difference is RF part and mainly the frequency used in the system. As you said, I will address the which one is proper for my design.
