Douglas Wong is the clear winner in this design challenge with an amazing, wearable, and polished project.

The judges were blown away by how polished this project was. The modules have clean and easy-to-use user interfaces, coupled with neat and tidy 3D printed cases.

The quality of videos, photos, code, and blog content produced by Douglas Wong is exemplary as always.

This project is a solid prototype for a product that could save many lives.

Prize: DJI Phantom 4 with Backpack and two extra batteries (retail value $1598)

Runner Up Prize Winner:

dwinhold

Cold Weather Survival Suit

Dale Winhold's project might not be one of the most polished we have seen, but it has a lot of charm. It held very close to the theme of the design challenge and pushed Dale's knowledge, patience and community participation to a very impressive level.

This project is a great working design concept for a product that could save lives.

Dale's use of weaved flexible carbon strips was pointed out as a great design choice.

Excellent project dwinhold . I am very impressed with the work you did to achieve a practical system. When I first saw your objective, I was skeptical because I know enough to consider it a daunting task.

Congratulations to all the participants. I enjoyed following all the blogs and found this challenge to be a most enriching experience. Thanks to element14 and Texas Instruments for sponsoring the challenge. It is hard to express how satisfying it is to successfully complete a project that took so much effort and started with so many stretch goals, where you are letting it all hang out in public. To say I'm ecstatic doesn't seem to convey the enduring high this produces. All I can say is challenge yourself with a stretch project ... it is worth the risk and well worth the effort.
