For our Star Wars themed build, we have borrowed an R2D2 soda cooler from a friend and here he is! We're starting by building him a new head since he lost his original one somewhere along the way. We've get some pretty great ideas in store for this build, but we'd like to hear your thoughts.

What fancy features would you want your R2D2 cooler to have?

Presenting a lightsabre cold beverage through the top would be a nice feature, but would need an automatic loading system. A coil that went around the inside walls that kept the drinks in a line could be gravity fed and after the carriage reset to the bottom, the next drink was released onto the tray.

Having arms and tools that come out the panels on the sides may compromise the insulating properties.

Have it come when you call it would be a nice feature. Just keep it from bumping into furniture and knocking over lamps and such. (Roomba?)

A drink counter to know it's contents. So you don't have to search through the ice only to find out there's none left.

    Hi Ben,

Well you need to add the digital LED display and then have a sound generator to make all of the pips and squeaks of R2D2.

You also might want to add a PIR sensor and activate the sound circuit when someone approaches.
