An idea for something practical would be some type of microproccesor debugger. Similarly, to the Agilent scope used on the show, but without the screen. Personally, I would like to get into Sega Genesis programming and would like to have a way to monitor all 23 address lines and 15 data lines(possibly other signals too) in real time. This debugger would be triggered by the address/data strobes and save the values in hex either to an sd card or preferably on a computer via USB.
