Touch screen computer in place of a car stereo.

A friend and I have thought about this for awhile but we are by no means on the level of Ben when it comes to make electronics. We were think along the lines of using a RassberryPi with a touch screen. It would have to fit in a normal DIN slot in a car dash And hook up to the car speakers. We are really hoping you could shed some light on this project and help us modify our car stereos. Thanks for reading!

I wish a picture but I did this in a friends truck using adafruit 7 inch backpack with touch, and a pi2 last year.

I think this is a good project for beginners because of the capabilities that you can add into the system as you learn.It will pretty much work straight out of the box so to speak and as you learn you'll be able to integrate things more and add capabilities while making things more seamless and buggy.
