a project involving the micro bit

I've had an idea to do a project with the bbc micro:bit (microbit.co.uk), as the computer is being distributed to all of the year 7 kids in the uk this month.

It would be good to do an "hour of code" episode with the micro bit, or try to hack the system with C++ and mbed.

  • Might need to wait until Barclays start to do the commercial roll-out of it so as more people can access it worldwide.

     

    The existing CodeBug hour of code should port fairly easily to the micro:bit though. Perhaps an opportunity to use the accelerometer as an alternative to the left right buttons or as a seed for the random position generation.
