HI ben,
i am a big fan of yours and think you (and allison) are doing a great job. i had this idea for a long time and tried researching ways to develop it. but cant find the required info. maybe this could be a good project for you to do on your show. i have dozens of old non functional blackberrys laying around. and they have perfectly good keyboards on them. can we remove these (flat) keyboards and fix them to the flip cover of a smartphone like the Galaxy S5 (or another model with a window on the coder) and make it work? The idea is that when you use the phone as normal, but when you want to type a sms or email, you close the flap, type the text using the KB and see the text from the little window.
i tried experimenting with the keyboards for a long time but can seem to find any documentation on the output. i even thought that maybe i can get it to run as a external Bluetooth KB. what do you think?
maybe this could be one of your next projects?
keep up the good work.
Cheers,
