yes, I am trying to build a low cost DRO for my home lathe/mill using the Rasberry Pi, I thought it would be a great project for us DIY types. i don't care about the display, only the position sensor.
Does it have sensors on the rail? How many? Any information on type?
The sensor is in the plastic slider on the rail. I am heading home for the night but plan to dissect it unit in the morning. I don't have the equipment to analysis the signals, only basic meter.
It seems that I was in error. The sensor is capacitance based and may not be so difficult of interface.
