Chromatic Tuner

will.mendil

Hi, love the show!

I wondered if you could build a good quality chromatic tuner for instruments such as guitars. It doesn't have to be small.

There are a lot on the market but they have the equivalent of an iphone's circuit board in them. Mechanical ones do exist too and are incredible but cost a limb.

I just thought that something relating to music can make for a different show ( I couldn't choose a category in your form image)

Anyway I'm sure you could pull this off within a couple days

Regards from across the pond.

Well, this site is basically the bare minimum, but yeah, it's the same idea.

If you are using an electric instrument plugging it in is better than using a microphone. but for acoustic one needs a good microphone (I think).

Old tuners used strobe lights and were really good, and pretty smart in the way they work

If Ben could make one of these but simplified, that'd be great. but it might be too complicated.

Nowadays, most tuner are digital like this one

Anyway, you get the gist of it image
