Here's a challenge for you Mr. Heck!! I want to get a "smart" double din stereo, but they want about $1,500.00+! I could build my own mini-PC for cheaper!! I have a 2015 Camaro, and the MyLink factory option is waaaay over priced and an aftermarket option looks great, but isn't 100% reliable..

How about this for a challenge.. Build a PC small enough to fit a double din space and use the factory harness and the front faceplate of a factory stereo! With great sound, bluetooth capability, navigation of some sorts (google maps or windows based navigation), have wifi and tethering options, DVD and CD playback, AM/FM and Sat. options, use touch controls and physical buttons and knobs from the factory faceplate (or create my own faceplate, using a machine), withstand high and low temperatures from everyday use, and look 100% like it came from the factory!! Should be relatively easy for a computer engineer as Ben!! Then either have it run on either Android or WinCE..
So the job is to take a factory stereo, take the guts out, put in PC parts and wire them to the factory ins and outs!
Ben has made mini-PC's and made things running Android, so this should be an easy build!! Hope he thinks about this, because I would love to give my middle finger to GM's over priced BS and also not buy something from overseas that could be a piece of junk!!
Anyone else interested in this build??
