Laser cutter

Hello ben, I am a mechanical engineering student in the Netherlands and on campus we have a great laser cutter. Unfortunately it in not always available and to buy one is very expensive so I thought maybe you can do a diy build.

I'd love to see something like this as well. Especially if it was made from like an old DVD burner or something up-cycled like that.

Laser cutters are usually very expensive due to the costly, high powered lasertube. Laser episodes are cheaper, but severely lacking in power. Building a laser cutter is also very dangerous as one mistake…

Building a laser cutter is also very dangerous as one mistake can leave you permanently blinded. Instead I recommend either sourcing a professionaly designed kit like the microslice, or just saving money for a real laser.
