Arduino based GPS tracker that transmits its location via SMS to be read and interpreted by a computer on Google Maps.
An example use would be for a bus, you could transmit back to a server that displays results on a mobile app.
Could use any micro-controller e.g. Raspberry Pi.
If I did it myself I would like to use an Arduino due to cost constraints and I don't need it to do complicated tasks except what's stated.
