hi. i'm building a pi 3 system to put into my car. i've taken the internals from the dvd player out of the after market head unit and i have replaced them with a pi 3, a 120gb ssd, a 3800ah rechargable battery pack, and a pifi dac+ v2.0,
the pi boots directly from the ssd already so no sd card in the sd card slot. i'm going to solder all connections inside the dvd chassis to save room but that's where i come to my limitations. powering the unit is no problem. i have 12v to 5v 3a power supply which will be ignition fed when the ignition key is turned but i need to find a way to shut the pi down correctly, i don't just want to cut the power when the key is turned off. i read your article on fitting a simple on off switch to a pi but again that doesn't allow for a soft power down.
any help you can give would be great
