Stereolithography 3D Printer

Hi Ben, can you build a stereolithography 3d printer?

I need to print some really small gears to use in my new robot project, but i discovered that my 3d printer doesn't have resolution enough to print such small parts, so I think a stereolithography 3d printer such as the Formlabs Form 1 could print these... But those printers are expensive and difficult to find in my country (I'm from Brazil).

I think a stereolithography 3d printer build would be a very nice episode.

Or Build a Laser 3D Printer - Stereolithography at Home , but notice the resin is very expensive:
Something to keep in mind is the current cost of commercially available UV/Visible resins. 1 Liter is about $200 - $250 so compared to ABS or PLA for the plastic extrusion printers it is about 4 - 5 times more as far as I can tell. There are other types of resin that are cheaper but I do not know how well they will work.

The Peachy printer is what your referencing Clem. The Peachy Printer - The First $100 3D Printer & Scanner. Rylan got really creative during the design of this printer. The project has progressed extremely slow since they hit Kickstarter a while back and the printer is still on pre-order. Might want to look at the OLO https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/olo3d/olo-the-first-ever-smartphone-3d-printer?ref=nav_search that was funded on kickstarter recently. I wont get into what my thoughts are but the resin it uses is very tricking to manage.
Stereolithagraphy printer are going be higher priced compared to FFF/FDM printers but should give you higher resolution prints. Another draw back is the build volume will be smaller.
