portable arduino programmer.

Ben would it be a great idea to make a sort of a portable Arduino programmer in one of your video's.

There is already a android app to program a Arduino, so you not have to think about software.

I thought of a sort of a doc station for your phone with a keypad and a battery so you can program without stopping for a charge and of course a holder for your Arduino.

    Seems like a nice idea, but the default keyboard on android is pretty sucky for c because the curly braces and brackets are a pain to access. With a good keyboard and the duino hooked up via the USB port…

    Seems like a nice idea, but the default keyboard on android is pretty sucky for c because the curly braces and brackets are a pain to access. With a good keyboard and the duino hooked up via the USB port and a USB hub this could be a cool project. It is also worth noting that you need to wire micro USB port in a special way to get your phone to support usb for anything other than charging, Google USB on the go for more information. Bear in mind that this is a very difficult mod, I destroyed a USB cable when I attempted it, so perhaps a pre made adapter is a good idea. It is also possible to run the Arduino IDE on a raspberry pi so that could also be an option. This idea sounds so cool. Heck why not just make it yourself instead of waiting for Ben to do it. (Pun intended)

    that idea really is something you could do yourself.

    You could take it a step further and use the pi as a standalone unit for programming like a pocket programmer/Debugging tool for AVR applications. A "DEBUGGERtoGO"(tm)

     

    Imagine you are at your worksite( a customers factory for example) and an error occurs, instead of taking the unit apart and loose a lot of time, or work on it back in the shop , you plug your DEBUGGERtoGO into the programming header, read out the code and debug it right there.

     

    maybe it try it myself in the future....
