duel doorbell receiver with inline option for putting on headset

i need to know how to make a second doorbell receiver that i can place inline with my headset so preferably 3.5mm in/out jack that is triggered by the door bell being operated, cutting out incoming sound and playing a buzzer noise, i'm not sure if its possible but its something i would love to have as i'm forever getting packages sent to the depo to collect as i had my noise cancellation headset on. hope someone can help

    Is yours in the 433MHz range too?

    It should be written on the label behind the bell push. If so, you have two options. One slightly easier than the other.

    You can buy a duplicate receiver and hack: http://www.psychicorigami.com/2010/09/06/ultimate-arduino-doorbell-part-1-hardware/

    or get a module on the same frequency and sniff for valid data: http://www.amazon.co.uk/433Mhz-transmitter-receiver-Arduino-project/dp/B00E9OGFLQ/ref=sr_1_sc_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1418664493 though this will take a bit more work.

    An Arduino could then be used to wirelessly detect the press of the bell-push and interrupt the connection to your headphones.

    i dont own an arduino but it looks like a trip to maplin tomorrow is imminent haha what arduino is best to start out with please. and thanks for the reply big help

    The specification shouldn't be too critical for a project like this. Something like the Arduino UNO would be fine.

    I personally would just put the receiver next to you monitor and use the flasher, seems a lot less tricky than a full hack for it.
