4-way wireless intercom

Hi!

 

I'm looking for a way to build an affordable 4-way (or more) wireless (Bluetooth? Wi-Fi? other?) intercom to use when cycling with friends and family.  There are apps for phones, but they only connect two users at a time and drain your phone battery and not all of our riders have phones (yet).  Current commercial options cost from $80 to $200 per user! Some of our users are very young, and a full-duplex vox or hot-mic system is important.

  • Following up on my own post image 

    After several changes to my search parameters I've been able to locate an multi-platform mobile app that looks like it will work: lineapp

    From what I can determine, you can network with multiple users on the same wi-fi network, no internet access required.  Just a couple minor router settings changes are required.

    I have no affiliation with them, and am deployed overseas, so I'll have to wait to find a spare router to start testing this.
