piOS GUI from SUPERHOT?

RovertScott
RovertScott over 9 years ago

I have a Raspberry Pi2 and I've wanted a very stripped down GUI for a Fallout Style terminal.

When the game SUPERHOT came out, I was intrigued by its simple yet elegant ANSII interface.

Does anyone know where I can find or how I can make such a GUI?

(With the PiStore Dead, I'm not sure where to go anymore).

There are at least a couple of "GUI" libraries for the terminal based ncurses package that can produce screens like the one you show.

ncurses is included in almost every Linux distribution that I know of including Raspbian. Google ncurses gui to find them.

I was able to find a similar (if not the same) font for it called "Perfect DOS VGA 437 WIN"

So I was able to more or less duplicate it in word, and I could fake it visually as video frames,

but I would prefer to actually program it.

I've recreated the pIOS GUI from super hot in Html for the most part, you can't select the folders, but the basic design is complete.  You can find it here : https://jaksawesome10.github.io/pIOS/
