Hey guys,
I would love to see a rare Amiga 600 laptop running workbench 3.1 and WHDLoad, Deluxe paint etc.
My idea would include the following:
1. An Amiga 600 motherboard,
2. Find a 68030 expansion card Like this Vesalia Online - ACA 630/25 Accelerator Card
3. Get a CF Hdd like this www.amigakit.com - 4GB CF IDE HARD DISK DRIVE
4. A low profile small keyboard and trackpad combo like this SolidTek KB-540BU Black USB 88 keys Mini Keyboard with Touchpad built in as mouse, ACK-540 Touch pad with scroll functio…
5. Aquire a 3.1 rom from here www.amigakit.com - Kickstart 3.1 ROM chip (A600)
6. Find a scandoubler/flicker fixer maybe an external one would be best so we can keep the floppy drive.
7. Fit a usb controller like this one Retro 7-bit
8. Small form factor ATX psu (like a Shuttle psu) and and some cable modding so it can plug directly into the amiga power input (recycle the power cored)
9. Wifi using www.amigakit.com - EASYNET PCMCIA WIRELESS CARD (A1200/A600)
10.A 15" tft lcd monitor (flat one)
Not sure how the battery would work, But there could be the possibility of cd rom with cd rom and paula re routed sound for a mix of the two (which is easy) but this is not essential.
The great thing about this is maybe Ben and the team could teach us a thing or two like how to convert the rgb signal or how to make our own flicker fixer/Scandoubler... I for one would be really keen to find out how this could be done using some real tech junky knowledge.
So the idea would be to cram that lot into a custom case design to make it look like a modern day laptop
Total nostalgia
