RC Series

Wouldn't it be nice if there would a series on Quadcopter since most of the parts or devices like the transmitters, receiver are very costly and adds up the total cost of making it.

Atleast there should be a series on building all the parts Transmitter ,Received from scratch using arduino or raspberry pi.

Or Hacking cheap RC toys to build a Quadcopter

Or building cheapest Quadcopter

I think that would be a hit on YouTube!

Ben did a couple of episodes on building a quadcopter a while back which may be of some interest:

Episode 95: See Ben’s Quadcopter Episode Part (1)

Episode 96: See Ben’s Quadcopter Episode Part (2)

One of the problems with building your own components from scratch may be keeping the overall weight down on the quadcopter, which will likely benefit from miniaturisation from the mass produced R/C modules. Also there will likely be time and cost factors where it still works out cheaper to use ready made modules as opposed to attempting to build them all from scratch.
