Raspberry pi Compute Module

Hey Ben,

I'm Elvis from Uganda and I like your channel on youtube. I see you have so many builds using the raspberry pi but none with the compute module. I've been thinking about using the compute modulle but don't know where to get started. I wish you guys could do a build with the compute module and your own custom CMIO board.

Many thanks for your work, keep it coming and tell Felix i'm a fan.

Thanx.

The compute module is a fairly low-powered device compared to newer models, and while the compute module itself is reasonably priced, the dev-kit pushes the price right up.

You can purchase 2 Raspberry Pi 3's for the price of a dev-kit (and still have some change), and benefit from the improved performance. I would imagine the board selection is also partially made with re-usability in mind.

That said I quite like the compute module, It has huge advantages in embedded and OEM applications, and with news of a Pi3 based version coming out soon, things can only get better. image
