Connect a GE Simon XT (or other standalone security system) to a Raspberry Pi to create a custom built security solution that does not require paid monitoring services. The Raspberry Pi will be activated when voltage is detected on the wires running to the siren or strobe light (maybe achieved with an ADC chip) and a script will be executed to alert the home owner via SMS or email. The Pi may be connected via Wifi or communicate via a connected GSM module. Below are some optional features:
