Costume Automated Facial Animatronics

I just watched The Fifth Element again recently. The aliens in it have really good facial expressions. They are, however, controlled by remote as most animatronics in Hollywood are. The puppet you worked on operated by sound.

Is there a way to tap into a persons muscles or movements to control those animatronics?

I like this idea. Now preferably you would want the person in the costume and make the facial expressions comming threw to the animatronics.. Problem I see is that the chachter would have to be like the Mercs in the Fifth Elemnt with huge heads so the person could wear some kind of frame over there head with maybe servos to read his or her expression to transmit to the chacters face servos.

That was my thought as well. Specifically, A full size Hulk costume.

With a costume of that size, you wouldn't need the servos in the head. They can be mounted lower and operate a Bowden cable.

but with the servos right in the head there will be no slow reactions and no possible slippage.
