Virtual Pinball

There are a number of video game based pinball games.  Zen Studio puts out Zen Pinball for example and it has numerous table designed that are fun to play on the Apple TV.  However, playing video pinball lacks the feel of "real" live pinball.  So, this show/project idea would be to development a standup pinball controller/table that would have the controls - plunger, paddle buttons, tilt and optionally a monitor/hd tv.  Basically, the idea is that you stand at it like a real pinball table, pulling the plunger to release the ball, pressing paddle buttons and even bumping the table to cause some ball modifications OR tilt.  Each action is represented appropriately in the game due to the use of a disassembled and repurposed game controller. A monitor or HD TV could be attached, but you could just as easily use your own and treat the project as just the table/controller.

    Something like this perhaps:

    Desktop Pinball Controller

but with some sort of freestanding pedestal to sit it on ?

Yeah, darn, I was hoping no one had done it yet.  I guess it is a rarity to have a unique idea.  Anyway, correct, I wanted mine to have the traditional pinball table metal legs, and look like the front of a pinball table.

There are a few of them out there - most tend to be combo pinball/arcade controllers though so have the joystick control included as well.

It might be tricky to give it legs and still make it feel sturdy like a traditional table though.
