I've been an avid watcher of TBHS since the very early days on Rev3. I left doing hobby electronics, life, but I've recently got back into it and I've been catching up on the show, great work by the way.
I watched the projects on FPGA dev and also the work to connect directly to a LCD panel. It seems to me that the problems Ben had in Episode 236: Ben Heck's Hand Soldered Portable Atari 2600 could be resolved by replacing the original 6502 CPU board and panel driver into a single FPGA. This would be a great follow up to both the FPGA episodes and the Atari 2600 episodes. Ref Episodes. 169, 224 and 226.
I looked around for research and people have already put the 2600 on an FPGA. Details below, the grad paper also includes all the Verilog sources, so it makes it super straight forward.

The last doc contains a lot of great detail. There are a few interesting tangents that might be interesting with this build.. I'll leave that to Ben's imagination.
Thanks again for the show, keep up the great work.
