Hi Ben,
I have read the advice from many different sites on building a DIY touch table, but they all differ in their approach, each with pros and cons. Some use vellum and rolled on silicone for pressure sensitive touch while others use lasers in each corner to identify finger input. Some use Windows, while others run Mac, or even Android (i'm not partial to any one, they all have their pros and cons). Most of the videos and documents I have seen are only able to build a partially functioning unit with many (next time I will......) and none of them are complete start-to-finish step-by-step builds with full instructions.
I have old 40" LCD that I would love to retire to the use of a touch table, along with old computers and laptops that could be used for the brains. This would be a great method for recycling some old electronics that most people have laying around.
I would love to see your take on this project. I could imagine this being a pretty wicked 3-part video series.
Who doesn't want to replace their boring coffee table with a RAD touch table?
Thanks,
Dan Wright
