The idea I have is to take a 2DS and turning it into a console you can play on your TV. I'm thinking something similar to the TurboGrafx-16 having the carts insert parallel. Like the TurboGrafx or similar to how you insert a disc. The dual screen is an issue, so maybe it's possible to take the bottom screen and buttons and make a controller out of it. Think of it like Gameboy Advance for a controller but with a touchscreen. Now I know a lot of this might not be possible. I'm not sure how to make the console communicate with the second screen whether this would be a hardware or software issue I'm not sure. Having it work with a TV might be difficult to do as well seeing the 2DS handheld kind of doesn't have an output built in. You could probably build the output I know people have ways to record 3DS/2DS which involves conversion into HDMI. So it might require some research. I'm not sure if it can be done, but I'd like to see y'all try. I think it would be really cool.
