Raspberry Watch

I have a concept for a wearable raspberry to use to record lectures, take notes and handle some of my on the go word processing. not sure exactly where to begin, i already own a raspberry pi b 1st generation. Also thought this would be an amazing project.

    Good idea. I can see a need for some lecture solution.

    You're the "man on the street" with the knowledge of the problems you encounter in lectures, so your information is valuable.

    Regarding where to begin, I'd suggest you should flesh it out more, the real problems it will solve, perhaps diagrams, a list of requirements and how they can be implemented (at a high level)

    (e.g. if you want to record then you need audio capability - is it expected to have just a microphone, or speaker too?).

    Is the watch requirement essential? (might look too odd strapping something that big on a wrist). What problem does it solve?

     

    Without all this information it is just a vague idea, it needs deeper investigation. Who knows, if Ben doesn't take it up, it may give others ideas to create something suitable.

    Also to make it a bit more generic, if you have word processing needs too them maybe it is better as a mainly software solution running on a laptop (even if it is a Raspberry Pi based laptop) or a phone.

     

    Me and a friend used a minidisc recorder solution (old!). She would record lectures and post them to me whenever I wasn't around. Actually getting around to listening to them was not always possible though : )

    And I found the lack of video to cause difficulties. So for a real-world solution perhaps video capture or photo capture of slides would be useful to add too.
