Hi my name is Andre and I have some idea for your project or if you prefer call of the challenge.
I am an old game collector but there is a side that I grew with arcade games and I started collect as well.
Of course I not have a cabinet for each board, so because of the space I consolized all of them.
But consolized a arcade board I know is pretty easy for you, so what the idea.
Some board as you know, the company created like a mother board and created another board with the rom memory like a cartridge on home video game, the best example is the Neo Geo MVS.
Some boards not look like the MVS and but there are a bench of the games and use the same board like:
Capcon CPS1
Irem M92
Sega System 16A/B or 24 or 32
MIDWAY WOLF
Data East board
And nowaday try to found all game spend a lot of money and some cases is impossible to found, or other choise is go to emulator games.
But that is the point, how to use the original hardware and just to change the game like a home video game, is it possible to create like a cartridge drive and create the cartridge with the rom, like the Neo Geo did for the MVS board.
And another curiosit is the Sega ST-v Board The STV system is based on the Saturn Sega's home console with different control maps, so in this case:
1 - Is it possible run the STV cartridge on Sega Saturn Console adaptor? how to biuld this adaptor?
2 - Is it possible run the Sega Saturns CD on STV board? in this case how to instal a cd drive on STV board.
The last one is to create the master system portable.
there is any version on marketplace, but I'm talk about the master system evolution blue version by TecToy from Brazil, the board is so small that is possible to put inside the cartridge plastic cover.
But your project include the LCD, joypads, batteries, AV outputs and 2nd players out put. This board use memory flash maybe it's possible hack that memory as well.
I have that board, I brought from Brazil, just not work the video output but I think you can fix it, if you accept the idea, I can send you this board for your project.
I know there are a lot infomation and I know all of them are just idea, but I appreciate if some those idea coming true.
