A big fall back of the Wiiu's handheld is the short wireless range. The system uses a modified 5Ghz signal with a terrible range, so no playing while on the toilet
.
I've played on the WiiU, but I haven't personally used the handheld. How far can it currently go and how far would you want it to be able to go?
Nintendo suggests that the GamePad can work up to a range of 26 1/4 feet, but that's presumably under ideal conditions: big open rooms, through thin walls, etc. In practice however, I've found that even if I cross the threshold to another room I'll immediately run into connectivity problems.
Well the portable game pad was a huge selling point for me, but to be really useful as a portable handheld I would Imagine somewhere between 10 and 20 meters of good connectivity would be ideal. This would allow users to be able to take their handhelds to other rooms and floors.
