Ben never does any audio projects
. I know there are large communities of people online who primarily got involved with electronics through their hobbies of listening to music, playing instruments or through the Ham radio scene. I would love to see the team tackle an audio specific project, to appease us audio nerds. Even better, a guitar specific project would be awesome. A few suggestions..
1. Adding presets to an analogue guitar effects pedal. I would love to know how to take a classic 1970s pedal and update it so that I could recall favourite settings without having to bend over and manually touch the pots. Possibly some kind of motorised pots and a small remote control..hit a button, and its automatically dials up my favourite settings. This could have implications for people with mobility issues too, and make things easier.
2. How about a desktop guitar amplifier that powers off a usb 5v connection, has about 1-3 watts of output so you can practice quietly in your room.. and it could also have the ability through the usb ADC to record into a DAW app e.g. Logic audio, Cubase or Reaper.
3. Solar powered sustainable busking amplifier. Be great to see an amplifier that could run off battery pack and automatically charge from sunlight by solar panels built onto the top/sides of the amp. There are a lot of street performers who would benefit from this and it would be better for the environment as less batteries end up ib landfill tips. The amp could utilise a car audio 12v chip, have a preamp for clean and distorted channels and have an output of about 8-10 watts...
