I see these HP Thin Clients all over For-Sale sites.
Because of their compact size and many on board features, I think they would make a great set top media server.
The model I have been experimenting with is a T5565. It came with a 1 GB Flash drive (IDE) and 1 GB of 204 pin RAM.
It has a pin out for both a 44 pin IDE and ATA drive.
I found an old 80 GB IDE Laptop HDD and managed to get Windows 7 on it. I'm now working to get up to 8 GB RAM on it. Documentation shows the CPU can support it, I'm not sure what the Motherboard supports yet.
I'm not suggesting Windows 7 would be a good or only solution, I just wanted to see if I could get it installed. LINUX would be the most obvious solution.
Watcha think?
