This is honestly one of the best Pi Portables to date. So clean and elegant! I was so enthused to build my PiP when I first saw this video! Thanks Ben!

I love the portable Mame build, I purchased a car reverse camera kit with monitor to build something similar. The issue was that the screen runs on 12V (for a car battery) but I read online that this could easily be bypassed to 5V by soldering the wires to a different place. Unfortunately during my testing I did something wrong and I heard a popping sound followed by the dreadful magic smoke. I keep checking the local bidding sites for another special but no luck so far. Does anyone else know where you can get a good small monitor for the Pi that won't cost an arm and a leg?

This is so awesome.  Looks great as well.  The layout of the components are really nice and neat.  Awesome video.

    Ben,

How did you retain the hdmi and hook up the video to the smaller screen?

    Ben,

Thanks for putting this up on Thingiverse.  I might try and build one up for myself.

Never a comment "I'm building a Porta-Pi"  Your comedy-fu is weak on this build!  Excellent project!
