Ben creates a motorized web camera using the Raspberry Pi and its camera module so viewers can tune into the shop and take a look behind the scenes. Felix uses his Linux skills to get the Pi streaming to the web and Ben builds the mechanical features of the project. Ben carefully designs the project from the camera out to ensure everything will function once it’s all assembled.

    Mr. Heck does not, but I do: < https://github.com/Technicus/ShopCam >. You can thank professor Dr. Alberto Rodríguez-Rivera: < http://vanveen.ece.wisc.edu/data/Rodrig_Beamspace_TBME06.pdf >, who required…

I need something like this for my friend. He runs a youtube channel about DIY small engine mods. This would be awesome for him!

This could be used to help make some Youtube vids. Some other cool stuff as well.

    Hey flopystick6,

We are working to get the build information posted to the community blog.

    < Ben Heck's Build Kits >

< The Ben Heck Show Episode Archive >

It is not the most convenient way, but if you search the forum, you will get results of all Ben's build kits.  We are working on improving how we make these available for everyone.

Thanks Felix. It is too bad that Mr. Heckendorn doesn't share his code for his projects. I have great respect for him and I am always impressed with the projects that he creates. I would think that a vast majority of his viewers are makers/hackers in the open source community that would appreciate him posting the code from his weekly projects. Even if the code for the project is simple and straight forward, I am sure that there is someone out there who could benefit from seeing it. And if there are no plans to sell the code in the future, then I don't know why he wouldn't share it.

Thanks Felix! They things you guys build on the Ben Heck show are very cool. I wish Ben Shared more stuff of his builds, specially codes / designs, but thanks for sharing you code! image

I'm also working on a project that involves streaming video, but it is between two raspberry pi's, i'm having a great performance with the gstreamer1.0, streaming video from the raspberry pi to my computer, but i'm losing some nights to play the streamed data to a pitft from adafruit that uses a custom driver to output the video.

Hi Ben, will you post the software for both the pi and arduino on github? I would be interested to see how you streamed to ustream and also how you accomplished the I2C and IR code on the arduino.
