Gameboy Console

Former Member

Just had a random idea. A Gameboy Console. Take  one of the game boy handhelds (Original or Advance (whatever works)) and make it into a console that exports video to TV, and has a wired controller. Essentially it would be a reverse handheld. For bonus points fit it in an original NES case, including cartridge load area. For super extra  mega bonus points use the case of the original Gameboy to  make the controller. This could be great for people with bad eyesight (who may not see well on the small screen)

This is a decent idea but if you're going to go for something like this you might aswell try to do DS/GBA/GB, Just because you could probably get all 3 to work, so might aswell do all 3

I have concept drawings of a GB/ NES Mini console that I did not to long ago and had planned this as a project thanks to inspiration from another Element14 user, however upon some research, the original Gameboy just cannot be properly converted for composite output. This project unfortunately is more suited for GBA or Game Gear. Game Gear has a very simple conversion for composite output although this is a Sega console and would be more suited as a GG/ Sega Genesis Mini Console.

Gameboy player does just that, an it can do GameCube as well. Also, check out bacteria's big boy advance. It might be better for the partialy sighted as it is still portable.
