Viewer Challenge - Yard watering/Christmas Light Controller

Hey Ben,

I have a challenger for you that would be used all year long. I was thinking about asking to build a solar powered lawn mower, but living in Wisconsin I wanted something with a little more year round use. Then to stay on the outdoor theme I thought about a controller, that would turn on and off yard sprinklers. For example, leaving the tree sprinklers a little longer than the yard sprinklers. Watering the yard every other day, but spray the flower beds down every evening. This was still a 2 season controller, so what if you could make a few parts switches, and then control your christmas lights with it! And get really creative with your LED christmas lights.

Thanks

Conor

Or you could create your own board that you would be able to control wirelessly or with a wire drilled through your wall but wireless would seem more practical, and use R/G/B to change the colors to virtually almost anything you wanted, I support this idea id love to see this aswell, I have a bunch of ideas how this could actually work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SO1J1kP3YQ

Ive seen them do this with arcade sticks with rgb nobs on the side and it was very appealing.

You could also use it to pump up and fire multple air cannons also. You just have to give your self time to reload if you are doing it automatically or add a light sensor to tell when the barrel was loaded.. Then if you wanted to go the extra step, you could get stepper motors to aim the air cannons. Yet another step sould be to add lidar.

Come to think of it, a rocket or firewords launcher controller would also be fun.  Why just use it for water sprinklers, You could also use it as part of a home automation project. Turn on/off the coffee maker remotely without getting out of bed in the morning. Just have to remember to install coffee and water the night before. You could add sensors to check to see if that has been done also for safety reasons.
