viewer challenge: a tron bit

Hi Ben,

the new tron movie is coming, and so is x-mas. the perfect time for my challence: make a tron bit that can be hung on the x-mas tree!

the basic requirements is that the bit should be able to be in three states, 0 and 1 and idle. i think it can be done by some fine frames fitted into each other, with some small diodes or glowing-something attached, so that the three states can be illuminated. because the other frames are dark, it appears that the bit changes its color + shape. the state should be changeable by buttons.

extension 1: the bit should say "yes" and "no". since the movie is from the 80s, it should use 80s technology: each of the two words should be generated by a tape, where the tape has been shortened to just 1 sec. so pressing the "yes" button would make the "yes"-tape play the "yes"-sound, while the bit takes on the "yes"-shape.

extension 2: let the bit choose its state randomly, every few seconds.

Good Luck,

Juerg
