Hello,
I've just recently discovered THE BEN HECK SHOW and I have truly enjoyed each episode. This challenge is something that I have been wanting to do for awhile now, but I really don't have a clue as how to get started. I would like to take the pedals from a racing controller (brake, accelerator and clutch) and make them into a set of rudder pedals to be used with a flight simulator (specifically Microsoft Flight Simulator X).
I know that there are OEM pedals available, but I would like to make my own. I have a Logitech Wingman Extreme 3-D joystick that I use with the flight sim. This joystick twists to simulate rudder controls. My first thought was to somehow connect and map the pedals to the twisting axis of the joystick.
I have seen some homemade rudder pedals on other forums that have been made from wood, rubber bands and string. I think that it can be made to look neater by using a ready made set of pedals.
