Ben-
I've got a problem. I snore. Loudly. It wakes my wife, wakes my kids and causes the dogs to run and hide in the basement in fear that the house is collapsing around them. Odd thing is - I DON'T HEAR IT! I can just be dozing off, and my wife will say "...you're snoring..." (or more likely just smack me till I respond) to which I'll reply "really?"
It is as if there is some kind of natural noise cancellation going on in my head that prevents my own snores from hitting my awareness. On the other hand I wake up if a toilet flushes, a door closes, or it starts raining, exclaiming "what was that?!!!?!!"
I don't have sleep apnea (checked that already), tennis balls sewn into my pajama's back don't help (as I will happily snore face down into a pillow), and I can’t find anyone local to teach me to play the didgeridoo.
So Ben - Save my marriage by creating a gizmo that will let me know when I'm snoring to "train me out of it".
I’m thinking something like those anti-bark collars I see at pet stores. Something that can pick up a vibration of the throat (or just the sound - as silent snoring would not be an issue), and gently wake the snorer with a vibration or buzzer.
Thanks for your consideration – love the show.
