Can't think of a better name for this. It's not a simulation of a Rasberry Pi, but a computer where verything is virtual, screen, mouse keyboard, etc.
Take a Rasberry Pi, a pico projeector, and a laser keyboard/mouse (where the keyboard/touchpad is projected by lasers onto the desk and you type on the virtual keyboard) and put them all into a small houseing (say 1" thick, 4" across and 9" tall"). Call it the Monolith. Call it what you want. You have an on switch, a power plug (wall-wart acceptable). the projector lens and the laser sensor/projector.
I think this would be awesome. The challenge here woul be getting everything to fit into the size I've specified. One would need to disassemble the components (well, except fo rthe Pi) and relocate them into the Monolith.
Costs:
Projector: $189.99 (see http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/809472-REG/Optoma_Technology_PK_120_Pico_PK120_Pocket_Projector.html)
Laser keyboard: $179.99 (see http://www.amazon.com/Celluon-Magic-Projection-Keyboard-Touchpad/dp/B005ES6E6W)
Rasberry Pi: $40 ... see element14 adds .. :-)
Total for parts (sans case and power supply): $410.00. It exceeds the guidelines bya smidge, but not by much and it wouuld be AWESOME!
None of this looks technically difficult, except getting it to fit into a case might be interesting.
I'd build it, but can't afford the parts myself (anybody want to donate them ;-) ?)
